Farming Forward: Launching Our Mechanization Program
As part of our strategy to modernize rural agriculture, the Foundation launched a mobile mechanization program that provides shared access to farming equipment. Tools such as planters, mini-harvesters, and irrigation kits were distributed to farming cooperatives across Osun.
This initiative aims to reduce the physical toll on farmers—especially women—while increasing efficiency and yield. The use of mechanized tools reduced average planting time by 50% and cut post-harvest losses by 20%.
The initiative continues with training on equipment maintenance and sustainable usage. We’re also introducing solar-powered irrigation systems to improve dry-season farming opportunities.
